FOH is proud to present its new training facility, located in the Hubert H. Humphrey Federal Building in Washington D.C. This Training Center opened its doors on July 15, 2002, and already has provided training to more than 1500 Federal employees and contractors on a variety of occupational safety and environmental health topics.
FOH offers a wide variety of initial and refresher training courses including:
FOH provides lead training that meets requirements for approval by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is accredited by the Maryland Department of the Environment and the District of Columbia. Lead training is designed for employees who work in facilities where there is a potential for exposure to lead-based paint and/or lead pipes. Courses include; “Lead Worker”, “Lead Supervisor”, “Lead Inspection Technician”, and “Lead Project Designer”. Topics covered include but are not limited to:
- Personal Protective Equipment - PPE
- Protection Against Exposure to Lead
- Liability Issues
- Abatement and Disposal Strategies
- Lead Sampling Techniques

FOH provides asbestos training that has met the requirements for approval by the EPA, the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) and the Asbestos School Hazard Abatement Reauthorization Act (ASHARA). FOH's asbestos training is accredited by the Maryland Department of the Environment and the District of Columbia. Courses include “Asbestos Worker”, “Asbestos Supervisor”, “Asbestos Building Supervisor”, “Asbestos Management Planner”, “Asbestos Project Designer” and “Asbestos Operations and Maintenance Worker”. Course topics include but are not limited to:

- Protective Clothing
- Containment Practices

The Training Center, which can comfortably accommodate 25 students per class, is outfitted with the latest audio/visual equipment. The Center is designed with sufficient space so that required hands-on exercises can be conducted on-site. FOH's professional trainers are certified, where applicable, and are experienced and knowledgeable in their areas of specialties. The Training Center is located at the foot of Capitol Hill and is easily accessed by Metro.
Students who successfully complete training that is accredited by the Maryland Department of the Environment and the District of Columbia will receive a numbered certificate as well as a numbered wallet card with photo identification, as required by existing regulations.
FOH complies with all OSHA and EPA mandated record-keeping requirements and will work with agency Safety Managers to notify employees of up-coming classes. Upon request, FOH can incorporate agency specific policies and procedures into existing training or develop specialized courses.
