The American workforce consists of over 6 million workplaces and 93 million workers. In a typical day, 17 workers are killed on the job by traumatic injuries, 137 additional workers die of occupationally related illnesses and 17,138 workers are injured. Workplace accidents cost the US economy more than $110 billion dollars each year. In addition, for every $1 spent on direct costs of an accident, an additional $4 - $50 are spent on indirect costs including recruiting and training, production delays, customer dissatisfaction and decreased morale.
FOH’s Injury Prevention, Disability Management Program (IPDM) offers a range of services to assist agencies in developing or augmenting prevention programs that are designed to keep employees healthy, productive and on the job. We also provide services which enable employees to come back to work as quickly as is feasible and keep the injuries from reoccurring. Our IPDM team is composed of experts from such fields as safety, ergonomics, occupational medicine, nursing, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, and psychiatry. FOH takes the time to understand the work processes at a particular worksite, as well as methods to safely return individuals to productive work. FOH customizes programs or services to reduce injury, as well as to facilitate employees safe return to work.
