Wellness/Fitness
The benefits of regular physical activity are numerous. The American College of Sports Medicine divides the benefits into two categories: those derived from an improvement in overall heart and lung function and those that represent a reduction in risk factors for heart disease.

In general, a healthy cardiovascular and respiratory system provides us with an efficient engine that transports oxygen to all parts of the body. Oxygen is necessary for all cells and organs in the body to function properly. As a result you may notice less fatigue, less shortness of breath with exercise, improved circulation and a greater sense of well being.

Heart disease risk factors are those conditions that increase your risk of having a heart attack, stroke or sudden death. Such risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol or lipid profile, increased body fat, and high glucose levels or diabetes. Regular physical activity or exercise can help control, reduce or eliminate each of these risk factors.

Federal Occupational Health (FOH) can provide the facilities, programming and support that your employees need to reap the benefits associated with exercise. The healthier your employees are, the more productive your work place. We can design and implement a Wellness/Fitness program to meet the specific needs of your employees based upon their health and wellness interests. A well-tailored program is one that works!
